This guy
Reminded me of this guy

He reminded me of Hugh Hefner, which is what he’s supposed to do , apparently.

Would’ve been a better movie with him

Haha...that’s even better

I’m getting a John Kramer/Jigsaw vibe:

The snoke character makes no sense in the star wars universe. I think this is the biggest issue I have with the new star wars movies.

he reminded me of a distant great great uncle or cousin or some such thing I visited who was smoking filterless cigarettes, the suction on which required him to cover the hole in his neck.

Yea, I really didn’t get Snoke

I have tons of issues with the new movies. Snoke was like page 20 in my bitchfest.
I rated Last Jedi as the worst of the Star Wars movies. I’ll take Darth Maul and Jar Jar over this.

I don’t have a problem with it. The Empire was massive, it didn’t just cease to exist after the Emperor was torched. someone was going to step into the power vacuum as quickly as possible.
and I prefer that the new films don’t over-explain the events since ROTJ. Over-explaining is what Lucas was doing, which is why he made a “kids’ movie” which started with half an hour of talking about trade negotiations.

I don’t think I’d have as much of an issue with Snoke if he wasn’t a powerful force user. The fact that he’s powerful enough to be able to overpower Kylo means he’s not just “some guy” who took over after the Emperor died. I get that they don’t want to over explain things, but I would have liked to know something about Snoke, instead he’s just there.

I almost wonder if he was a Jedi that survived the brutal killing off of the Jedi during the Prequels and turned to the dark side. His wounding and scars seem like something from a light saber attack. Even kinda looks like this Youngling:

Hey, maybe he’s not dead. Who knows?
![]() 01/04/2018 at 13:50 |

that said those holes in his throat make me want to cringe

I think every true star wars fan was thinking what I was thinking: “why didn’t they just produce the Thrawn Trilogies?” I mean the shit was already written, and pretty damn good too.

Remember though, until the prequels, we didn’t know anything about Palpatine. He just WAS. And it was okay. I feel the same about Snoke. I don’t really need to know where he came from, just that he is, and that he’s powerful. I worry that if they try to go too much into the rise to power in a movie, it’ll turn into another Phantom Menace.

There are always two sith, and a couple waiting in the wings apparently.

They had tons of material to pull from or emulate. They decided to chose nothing.
So, the things that piss me off the most...lack of new characters. Name 3 new ones? And the lack of costume designs. Other than the stupid Praetorian guards, who fought straight outta a Xena episode, there were no new costume designs or styles. Hell, there were no new named ships or even memorable music!

The x wing is now black?
![]() 01/04/2018 at 14:04 |

I never took that as a hard-and-fast rule, especially since it came from one of the prequels. just the natural order of people who live by the sword.

It was black in the last episode.

Freddy Kreuger in a Ric Flair robe.

He was brought from the Sith AAA league?
![]() 01/04/2018 at 14:59 |

True. I guess the fact that he’s such a foreboding presence but so short lived with no real development makes it seem...I don’t know...wasteful? That’s not quite the right word, but it just feels like there should be more there.

Oooo...I like that theory

They had those bomber thingies and the big gun ship that they blew up with those bomber thingies.
![]() 01/04/2018 at 15:38 |

The bombers that ‘dropped’ bombs...in space?
Big ship had a name...or designation at least for the 5 seconds it was on film.

So I wasn’t the only one surprised by the universal presence of gravity in every space fight scene? I think the big ship was called a dreadnought, I wanted to see it do more cool destroy like things. Those cannons under the ship were awesome.

I think there still may be more. At the very least, there’ll probably be a flashback or two next movie that explore Snoke via Kylo’s backstory, at the most maybe he IS Plaguis (sp?) and there’ll be some sort of force resurrection.

Whole movie felt like a ST:NG where they were waiting on Data and Georgie to make a device so they can escape. It sucked.

Actually he looks much more like Doug Jones

His storyline did not pay off at all, lol. I feel like all his screen time was wasted time that could have been spent on something else. They built him up to be so ominous in the first movie and in the 2nd one he was hardly relevant and he died ridiculously easy lol.
